Majuli-The Largest River Island in the world.

Majuli or Majoli is a river island in the Brahmaputra river, in the Indian state of Assam. Majuli is often erroneously cited as the largest river island in the world by the Indian media, but in fact it is merely the largest freshwater island in South Asia. Majuli occupies an area of about 577 km², having lost significant area due to erosion.The island is about 200 kilometres east from the state's largest city — Guwahati, and is accessible by ferries from the town of Jorhat. The island was formed due to course changes by the river Brahmaputra and its tributaries, mainly the Lohit. Majoli is also the abode of the Assamese neo-Vaisnavite culture.

REASON:

Tourist should visit because it is the world largest river island and it is also a world heritage site with amazing beautiful scenic beauty n natural grennary. Though it is not in the media focus so one should try visiting the destination to experience an new era of natural beauty.

Tihar Jail....

Prior to 1958, a small Jail was located at Delhi Gate area of Delhi. In 1958, the prison was transferred from Delhi Gate to a site on the land of Tihar Village in western part of New Delhi. In the beginning, only one Central Jail was commissioned with the lodging capacity of 1273 prisoners. Till 1966, the admi nistrative control of Delhi Jails was with the Government of the state of Punjab. The same was transferred to the Delhi Administration, Delhi in 1966. There was applicability of Punjab Jail Manual on Delhi Jails upto April 1988 when Delhi Jail Manual was drafted and came into force.
There was no full fledged post of Inspector General of Delhi Prisons till March 1986 and this work was being additionally shouldered by the Dy. Commissioner, Delhi. In 1986, the full fledged post of Inspector General was created and was headed by a senior IPS officer. As the prison population grew to a large number leads to establishment of many new jails and correctional personnel. To lead the department the requirement of new post arised and subsequently post of Additional Director General and Director General was created to head the prison department.

REASON:

If i my the prime minister of India, i would like the youth of my country to visit "Tihar Jail" on INDEPENCE DAY, so that they can understand the true intensity of freedom and independence, and it will also teach them to live a peaceful and sin free life with harmony. That would help them to live truly with independence rather than living an imprisoned life like a convict or a prisoner with sin n guilt.

Tawang at first look appears as a typical town on the Himalayan ranges. A close look however reveals the friendly and warm people and the amazing beauty and natural wonder it has to offer. This small town has a city center and the Tawang Monastery of the Gelugpa sect built by the Mera Lama in 1681. This is one of the largest Monasteries in India. Located approximately 550 km from Guwahati, Tawang requires special Inner Area permit available at Kolkata or Guwahati. The travel to Tawang is full of beautiful stretches of lush green sloping valleys and verdant forest covered mountain peaks. The journey becomes more interesting after crossing the Sela Pass wherein one can halt and sample local meat/vegetable momos and cream buns. The Border Roads Organisation provides ample entertainment throughout the travel with its utterly unintended and ridiculous road signage. However, beware that Petrol would be available only at a premium around 100 kilometers of Tawang. There is only one Fuel Pump which serves Diesel.

Kamakhya Temple

The Kamakhya Temple is situated on the Nilachal Hill in western part of Guwahati city in Assam, India. The temple was constructed in 1565 by Chilarai of the Koch Dynasty in the style or medival temples.

This temple has been recognised as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. It receives alot of tourists both domestic n international throughout the year.
